Love my new Kookaburra coin!

Oh my goodness, I ordered the 2023 Kookaburra coin, and it's absolutely gorgeous! The detail is incredible. It arrived so well-protected in its capsule. Shopping on their site was super easy and fun, just scrolling through all the beautiful coins. I'm already eyeing my next purchase. Definitely recommend them to anyone who loves collecting! What a fantastic addition to my collection.

Always reliable for bullion

This was my fifth order with The Coin Shoppe. I bought another gold bullion bar. Just like before, the order was processed quickly and arrived securely packaged. They are consistent, which is why I keep coming back for my bullion needs. It's good to have a trusted source.

Solid purchase, minor wait

I purchased a Royal Canadian Mint proof set. The packaging was excellent, and the coin set was exactly as described, in perfect condition. The website was easy to navigate when I was looking for it. My only slight complaint was that shipping took 8 days to reach me in California, which felt a little long, but it did arrive securely. Customer service was responsive when I inquired about tracking. Overall, a positive experience, but faster shipping would make it even better.

Decent price on silver

I was looking for some silver rounds and compared prices across a few sites. The Coin Shoppe had a competitive price, especially with the free shipping for orders over $500. I bought a few different rounds, and the total qualified for the free shipping, which saved me a bit. Everything arrived safely. Felt like a good deal for the quantity I got.

Are their coins actually genuine? Like, if I buy a gold maple, is it really from the Royal Canadian Mint or some knockoff?

R Ryan F. 2 months ago
Totally legit. They're an authorized dealer for the RCM and other major mints. I've bought quite a few things from them over the years and always been spot on.

Yeah, they're for real. They also deal in graded coins, which usually means they're serious about authenticity. Never had an issue with anything I got from them.

What payment methods do they take? Can I just use a regular credit card or do they only do like wire transfers for bullion?

M Megan 1 month ago
You can use a credit card for most stuff, I always do. I think they have other options too, but credit card is definitely one of them.

They take standard credit cards like Visa and Mastercard. I believe they have other options like interac e-transfer if you're in Canada, but for the US, CC works fine. For super large bullion orders, sometimes wire transfer is preferred but for most orders, plastic is good.

What's their return policy like for bullion? If I buy some silver and the price drops, can I send it back?

C Cody C. 1 month ago
Nah, pretty sure you can't return bullion just because the market price changed. Most places don't allow that. It's usually final sale for those items.

P Paula 1 month ago
From what I remember, bullion sales are generally final because their value fluctuates so much with market prices. You can return other items, but not usually gold or silver bars/coins unless there's an actual defect.

Thinking of getting a first purchase discount. How much is it usually, and can I use it on like, a silver bar or just regular coins?

M Marcus Romero 1 month ago
The first purchase discount is usually like $5 or $10 off, nothing huge. And sometimes it doesn't apply to bullion, just regular collectible coins. Check the fine print.

I got $10 off my first order, but I tried to use it on a silver maple and it didn't work. Had to use it on a commemorative coin instead. Bullion often gets excluded from those kinds of coupons.

Do they have a rewards program? Trying to build up points for future purchases if I stick with one dealer.

M Megan Patel 2 months ago
Yeah, they do have a loyalty program where you earn points. I've used mine a couple of times for small discounts on accessories.

They have rewards points. You collect them for every purchase and can use them for future orders. It's not a massive discount, but it adds up over time if you buy a lot.

How long does shipping usually take if I'm ordering from, say, California? Need to know if it'll get here before a birthday.

S Steve Bennett 2 months ago
For California, I'd say give it at least a week to ten days. It's coming from Canada after all. I ordered something to Florida once and it was about that long.

F Faith K. 2 months ago
Mine took about 8 days to get to Texas. They usually ship pretty quick on their end, but cross-border stuff always adds a bit of time, especially with current postal situations.

Does The Coin Shoppe ever have good sales around Black Friday or Christmas? Wondering if I should wait to buy some stuff.

C Colin Patel 1 month ago
Oh yeah, they definitely have sales during those times. Black Friday and Boxing Day are usually good, sometimes New Year's too. I've grabbed some decent deals then.

They usually do a Black Friday and Christmas sale. I've seen some small discounts on certain coins or free shipping promos. It's worth waiting if you're not in a hurry, you might save a few bucks.

Hey, thinking about grabbing some silver maples. Does this store ship down to the US? Wondering about any extra customs stuff too.

B Beth Walsh 2 months ago
Yeah, they ship to the US. I got a couple of Kookaburras last year and it wasn't a problem. Customs fees were pretty standard, nothing wild.

E Emma Whitfield 2 months ago
They do ship to the US, but you might wanna check their site for the exact details on customs and duties. From my experience, it depends on the order value but it's usually clear at checkout.
